It’s a holiday weekend!

It’s easy to think there’s not much to look forward to in these winter days at Kitchen Kettle Village.  But this weekend that’s not the case.  It’s a double whammy – Valentine’s Day and President’s Day weekend.  The weather is supposed to be reasonable, most of you have a three day weekend and we all need something to get us away from our TV sets and all that never-ending news about the economy.  So bring your Valentine for a getaway.  Unfortunately the Inn is booked but there are still some rooms nearby. The Kling House is serving breakfast or lunch.   Deerskin Leather, Girls Day Out, By Candlelight and Village Outfitters are having the only sale they have all year.  Everything that is on sale is 50% off – not everything in the store is on sale, but the stuff that is you can get quite a deal.  Those deals last all week long.  And the Jam  & Relish Kitchen will be cooking Bluebery Preserves.  Where else but Lancaster County can you get such good food and shopping?

It would be easy to think we all go into hibernation over the winter here at the Village.  But nothing could be further from the truth.  We’re putting the finishing touches on our new strategic plan.  Simply…Showtime is turning into the Roasted Rooster.  Lupe’s Baby Boutique will be the Sassy Spoon.  Kristine’s working on at least three new products for the Jam and Relish Kitchen.  The Captains of our teams are sharpening their skills with tips from the latest book on guest service.  The tree trimmers were here last week making sure there’s plenty of room on the walkways.  Everyone is tearing apart their stores and housecleaning.  Michelle and Jerry are traveling all over the country looking for new merchandise.  And Tom is leading the charge in the office getting ready for that dreaded April 15th tax deadline.  So although there may not be as many of all of you here as we get to see later in the spring, we’re constantly preparing for your visit.

See you soon!  Have a great holiday weekend.
