Andy Reid won!

1st Place Scarecrow Andy ReidOkay, so Andy won. Not just the football game Sunday night, but also the scarecrow contest at Kitchen Kettle’s 7 Sweets & Sours Festival. I hate that the Steelers lost, but Andy’s had a tough year. I guess it was his turn. If you missed seeing the scarecrow of Andy, he was bigger than life in front of the Tee Parlour. And Lucky Strike came in second. The office team is big on bowling so it was only fitting that their bowler would win a prize. By the way, if you’ve never gone pumpkin bowling, it was a lot of fun at the festival. Ears of corn served as bowling pins and nice round pumpkins for bowling balls – who d’a thunk it?

The other pretty unusual item at the Festival was french fried kickin’ pickles. If you haven’t tried the kickin’ pickles just out of the jar, start there. The habanero pepper gives the kick. But Kristine decided to french fry them for a tailgate party and WOW! they’re even better than alone.

It was great to see so many people here in the Village. All this talk of gloom and doom, we’re not hearin’ it. The weather was perfect, the football game was on, we were all dressed in our favorite team jerseys, the bands were playin’, the cheerleaders were here and all was right with the world at Kitchen Kettle Village for those two days. If you weren’t here, sorry you missed it.

Banjo Jimmy is pickin’ away outside my window. Fall is my favorite time of year. The leaves are ready to turn, you need a sweater and it’s almost time to put on my favorite things – Ugg shoes. I went to Costco yesterday and they have Christmas out already!!! Did they forget about fall? Let me know if you’re heading our direction.
